The Current Head of Department is Dr. Samson A. Deji. (MBChB;MPH;FWACP; Postgraduate prog. Paediatric Nutrition Boston)

Dr. Deji obtained a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria.  Holds a Master of Public Health from Obafemi Awolowo University ile-ife.  He had his postgraduate Medical residency training under the West African College of Physicians at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, ile-ife.  He holds a Fellowship degree of the West African College of Physicians in Community Health. (FWAcP) by this specialist medical degree, he is a Consultant  Public Health physician and  is currently a Senior Lecturer PFQ for the position of a Reader. He has currently about 37 published articles, most of them in well-reputed offshore peer-reviewed journals.
